     Shady Ladies

This painting was inspired from a story I read about
 what happened during Queen Victoria’s reign.  
 Apparently when a court gentleman desired a lady
 that he had become acquainted with, he would send her a 
bouquet of calla lilies and at the next court he would await her reply.

When I was living in the south I was privileged to listen to different

Elders telling stories. Many stories are about the ‘sacred katsinas’

that live in the San Fransico Peaks.

These katsinas are never physically seen but their presence can be felt.

When you need help travelling you can ask the ‘sacred katsinas’ to

come and guide you and the stories how they have helped are wonderful.

So I painted these katsinas in an abstract design to give a feeling rather than solid  figures.

Desert Glory

Living in the desert is a wonderful experience. You become aware of everything around you. When it rains suddenly the desert bursts forth with colour. The desert becomes a carpet of flowers of all colours.
All my life I have taken flowers for granted. The desert teaches you never to take anything for granted. You learn to look at everything differently. So, when a flower opens I look at the many beautiful colours it has, and I always say ‘thank you’ for allowing me to enjoy this moment with you.

A wonderful sculpturer Dan Hodson will be doing an event with me from May 23rd to May 30th.

at Tinhorn Creek winery. It is a must see event his work is outstanding. Showing in the vinyard

with Dan I will have a few freestanding paintings. Inside the winery Dan will have several photographs

on display these are a must see. Dan is a photographer for our Local racetrack in Osoyoos.

I will also have some new paintings with him.

"The Best of Friends"  show has ended, and we had a great event.

So much interest. Our thanks to Steven and his wonderful staff for making this happen. We hope to see many folks at our next show "Mystic Wings" which will be held May  23rd.  to May 30th.  We will have more information later.
